After accidentally crash-landing in 2022, time-traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed teams up with his 12-year-old self on a mission to save the future.

The venture, a spec script composed by T.S. Nowlin, was at first reported as Our Name Is Adam in October 2012. Central Pictures became keen on gaining the film, and Tom Cruise was connected to star.
The movie was resuscitated in July 2020 when it moved to Netflix, with Shawn Levy as chief and Ryan Reynolds set to star after beforehand teaming up on Free Guy (2021), while the most recent draft of the content was composed by Jonathan Tropper, from past drafts by Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin.
